Organizational Development

The Department of Organizational Development is comprised of four main offices: Leadership Development, Professional Development and Training, Professional Growth and Partnerships, and Teacher Development and Support. In addition to these offices, Organizational Development also monitors the Title II Part A Grant Program that supports the improvement of paraprofessionals, teachers, assistant principals, and principals.

Leadership Development

  • Develops and implements training for BCPS staff who aspire to positions of leadership

Professional Development and Training

  • Provides technical training for new and experienced employees
  • Manages the use of Baltimore County Public School systems such as the Online Registration System and Professional Development Cycle

Professional Growth and Partnerships

  • Coordinates, implements, and evaluates high quality professional development for curriculum and instruction staff, teacher leaders and administrators in support of system-wide goals and indicators in the Blueprint for Progress

Teacher Development and Support

  • Coordinates the Professional Development Schools (PDS) Program and the placement of interns ("student teachers")
  • Provides comprehensive professional learning opportunities for new teachers during the three year induction period
  • Organizes courses for continuing professional development (CPD) credit and college credit, including cohort programs
  • Leads professional learning on coaching and mentoring skills for STAT Teachers, Consulting Teachers, and other teacher leaders

Resource Centers

  • Provides instructional resources for students, families, educators, and community members
  • Offers training, in-service, and teacher and parent development activities designed to support student learning

Title II Part A Grant Program

  • Baltimore County Public Schools’ role is to assist MSDE approved non-public schools in Baltimore County with accessing benefits and services under the Title II Part A grant.‚Äč
